AngloGold Ashanti Obuasi Mine Honours Outstanding Women at 2026 International Women’s Day Dinner and Awards Night

AngloGold Ashanti (AGA) Obuasi Mine marked International Women’s Day 2026 by hosting a Dinner and Awards Night at the AGA School Park, embracing the global theme “Give to Gain.” The theme underscores that deliberate investment in women through equal opportunities, education, mentorship, and recognition does not diminish resources but multiplies progress for families, communities, businesses, and society at large.

The evening brought together employees, community leaders, partners, and guests to honour women who have excelled in education, entrepreneurship, community service, professional roles, and advocacy.

Samuel Boakye Pobee, Managing Director of AGA Obuasi Mine, used the occasion to reaffirm the company’s commitment to gender equity.

“We are giving equal opportunities to both men and women,” Mr. Pobee told the media. “There should be no gender disparities when it comes to profession. Both men and women write the same exams, and some women even perform better than some men.”

The awards recognised 28 outstanding women across nine categories, reflecting the theme’s emphasis on giving recognition and support to unlock broader benefits.
