Bacnof Schools in Obuasi has organised its elections to elect new prefects for the next academic year. Over two hundred students from nursery to Junior high school participated in the elections.
Ten students contested for seven available positions in the school. Miss Florence Acquah, Organiser at the Bacnof Schools told Obuasitoday.com that they decided to organise a national-like elections in order to prepare their students for the national elections when their time is due.
“This will prepare them for the national elections so that when they get there, we wouldn’t hear of any spoilt ballot papers” she said.
At the end of the elections, Andy Nti-Frimpong was elected the Headboy with Charisma Abena Enam Tsikata becoming the Headgirl. Davida Nhyira Sackey won with 207 votes to become the Chaplain of the school.
Keziah Nti-Frimpong pulled 146 votes to beat Nana Akua Agyemang to become the Entertainment Prefect.
Kelvin Karikari won the Sports prefect contest with 190 votes and Daniel Fosu Mensah became the new Cafeteria Prefect with 161 votes.
Belinda Ayew Aggrey beat Michelle Anima Ofosu by 153 against 58 to become the new Compound Overseer.
Bacnof Schools is located at Gausu Extension and Nhiaeso in the Obuasi Municipality.
