Girls Shall Grow on Saturday, 21st March held its Annual Young Ladies Retreat at Holy Family Catholic Church Bogobiri, bringing together about 150 participants for sessions centered on emotional healing, self-worth and personal development.
The programme opened with an affirmation session led by Mentor Lovely Leticia, followed by prayer, worship and praise. Mentor Cecilia Salifu-Ziemah outlined the purpose of the gathering before the main presentation by Executive Director Louisa Amoah on the theme “Emotional Healing and Self-Worth.”

Mrs Amoah described emotional healing as allowing God to mend brokenness, restore joy and help individuals move forward without bitterness. She identified peer pressure, child abuse, comparison and fear as some causes of emotional distress among young women and encouraged participants to acknowledge their struggles, seek spiritual support and trust the healing process.

Participants later engaged in group discussions on self-worth, where they shared personal experiences and reflected on embracing their uniqueness. The retreat also featured drama, choreography and spoken word performances aimed at reinforcing the day’s message.

The event ended with closing remarks and a benediction by Rev. Father Clement Adanse, who encouraged participants to remain focused on their goals and pursue their aspirations.

The retreat forms part of ongoing efforts to empower young women with confidence, emotional resilience and purpose-driven leadership.
