The Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for Obuasi East, Hon. William Kofi Adzowu, today joined the Muslim community within the municipality to commemorate the Eid celebrations. The event served as a platform for strengthening community ties and addressing key socio-economic issues.
Addressing the gathering, Hon. Adzowu expressed profound gratitude to the Muslim leadership and the entire community for their unwavering support and spiritual contributions to the municipality.
The MCE acknowledged the power of prayer in maintaining peace and stability within Obuasi East.
He praised the Muslim community for their proactive role in the municipality’s growth and their commitment to harmonious coexistence.

Strategic Advice on Economic Diversification:
Hon. Adzowu urged miners specifically those into small scale mining to look toward long-term financial security by diversifying their income streams. He encouraged individuals to reinvest a portion of their mining proceeds into income-generating businesses rather than relying solely on the extractive sector.
Thinking Beyond Mining:
The MCE highlighted the importance of entrepreneurship and the development of alternative industries to ensure the municipality remains resilient even as mineral resources fluctuate.
“Mining is a finite resource. I urge you to think beyond the pits and invest in businesses that will sustain your families and the local economy for generations to come.” MCE advised.

The celebration concluded with a call for continued unity and a shared vision for a prosperous Obuasi East.
Hon. Adzowu reaffirmed the Assembly’s commitment to supporting local businesses and ensuring that the municipality’s wealth is channeled into sustainable development projects.
