The Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly (KMA), through its Internal Security Task Force, has arrested four individuals for allegedly engaging in the sale of illicit drugs at a sanitation area behind the Ashtown Post Office in Kumasi.
The operation, which took place on Monday, March 16, 2026, led to the retrieval of several suspected illegal substances, including Indian hemp, hard drugs, packs of cigarettes, and boxes of “Mashallah” (Ataya). Authorities also seized a locally manufactured pistol, cash, and other materials believed to be harmful.

The suspects, whose identities have not yet been disclosed, have been handed over to the Kumasi Central Police Station for further investigations.
KMA has reaffirmed its commitment to maintaining law and order, urging residents to support ongoing efforts by reporting suspicious activities and cooperating with authorities to keep the metropolis safe.
