Presidential hopeful Ing. Kwabena Agyei Agyapong has assured the New Patriotic Party (NPP) of his unwavering support for whoever emerges as the party’s flagbearer, even as he remains optimistic about securing the position himself.
Speaking during the launch of his campaign office in Accra, Agyapong declared his intention to contest in the upcoming presidential primaries. He stated, “I want to make a firm commitment that whoever the delegates elect, I will give my full support to that person.”
He expressed confidence in his chances, noting, “I’m very hopeful that I’m going to be able to convince the delegates to vote my way,” referring to the over 300,000 party delegates expected to vote.
Addressing the issue of unity after internal elections, Agyapong reminded party members of the importance of rallying behind the chosen candidate, regardless of the outcome. “I think all of us supported Dr. Bawumia. It doesn’t mean our political careers have ended,” he remarked.
He concluded by emphasizing that his early declaration of intent signals a renewed commitment to serve and lead the NPP into future electoral victory.
