Lawrence Nana Obeng Bondah Mourns Samuel Aboagye and Victims of Helicopter Crash

Obuasi, Ghana – Lawrence Nana Obeng Bondah, a 2024 New Patriotic Party (NPP) Parliamentary Candidate Aspirant for the Obuasi West Constituency and former Presiding Member of the Obuasi Municipal Assembly, has extended his heartfelt condolences to the families of the late Samuel Aboagye, other victims of the recent helicopter crash, and the National Democratic Congress (NDC).

In a statement, Bondah described the incident, which occurred on Wednesday, 6th August 2025, as a “tragedy that has left the entire nation in profound grief.” The crash claimed the lives of eight individuals on a national assignment en route to Obuasi.

“For us in Obuasi, the pain is especially deep because we lost one of our own, Hon. Samuel Aboagye — a true gem with a promising future,” Bondah said. He praised the late Aboagye as “a charismatic young man with remarkable political exposure, whose entrepreneurial skills and kind heart touched countless lives.”

Bondah noted that Aboagye’s contributions went beyond politics, leaving a mark on both the economic and sociopolitical development of Obuasi and the Adansi area. “It is indeed painful to lose a person of his calibre,” he remarked.

While mourning the loss, Bondah urged the community to take solace in Aboagye’s enduring legacy. “He passed away in service to a worthy cause, and his impact will continue to inspire us,” he said.

He concluded by praying for strength for the bereaved families and eternal rest for the souls of the departed.

“May the Almighty God grant their souls peaceful rest in His bosom and comfort all who mourn them,” Bondah stated.

A Message of Condolence to the Families of the Late Hon. Samuel Aboagye, Others, and the National Democratic Congress

On Wednesday, 6th August, 2025, our nation recorded with profound grief the tragic demise of eight of our compatriots in a helicopter crash while on a national assignment en route to Obuasi.

Regardless of our diverse political persuasions, we in Obuasi were particularly devastated by the news, following the involvement of one of our own, Hon. Samuel Aboagye, a true gem with a promising future.

Obuasi and Adansiman have lost not only a charismatic young man who was well-exposed politically, but also someone who shaped our community with his entrepreneurial gifts and kind heart, touching countless lives. It is, indeed, painful to lose a person of his calibre.

Yet, even under the deep shadow of grief, we find solace in the legacy and impact he made on the economic and sociopolitical life of our town and the country at large, mindful that he passed away in service to a worthy cause.

I extend my heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families, especially the family of our dear friend, Samuel Aboagye, and to the National Democratic Congress.

May the Almighty God grant their souls peaceful rest in His bosom and comfort all who mourn them.
