Obuasi Markets To Be Closed Down On Friday 27th March, 2020 For Disinfection

Conforming to the Presidents directive on plans to contain and avoid the spread of the Coronavirus (COVID 19) in the country, the Obuasi Municinal Assembly wishes to inform the general public that, there will be a massive disinfection or fumigation exercise across all market centers and lorry stations in Obuasi.
Consequently, the markets and Lorry stations will be closed down on Friday, 27th March, 2020 and reopened the next day for normal trading activities.
The Lorry stations will be opened on the same day immediately after theexercise.
The OMA will continue with the Spraying exercise from Sunday, 29th March, 2020 between the hours of 6am and 10am every day at the central market until further notice.
Meanwhile from Sunday 29th March 2020, business activities can continue after 10am every day.
The Obuasi Municipal Assembly is urging all traders and transport owners to comply with this directive and make sure their wares are properly stored for the exercise.
The Assembly takes this opportunity to advice the people of Obuasi to remain calm and observe the preventive measures such as washing of hands under running water, use of hand sanitizers and cover their nose and mouth when sneezing or coughing.
