The Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) of the Obuasi Municipal Assembly, Hon. Faustilove Appiah Kanin, has welcomed pupils in the Municipality with gifts as they begin their new academic journey.
As part of the nationwide “My First Day at School” exercise, the MCE and her entourage visited three schools — Sanso Methodist Primary and KG, Anwona M/A, and Ntonsua M/A schools. Pupils were warmly received with candies, fruit drinks, and educational materials.
Interacting with the children, Hon. Faustilove encouraged them to take their studies seriously, participate actively in class, and complete all assignments. She wished them well in their academic pursuits and prayed that they grow into responsible citizens who will contribute meaningfully to national development.
A total of 167 pupils were engaged during the visits. The MCE was accompanied by staff of the Obuasi Municipal Education Directorate, led by its Director, Mr. Alfred George Koomson, as well as staff of the Assembly. The Education Directorate team also extended the exercise to other schools within the Municipality.
The visits brought joy to both pupils and staff, who expressed delight at the warm gesture from the MCE and her team.
