Odeneho Appianin Ennin has pledged financial support for current NPP polling station executives in Obuasi West who plan to re-contest their positions in the upcoming party elections.
Speaking on Aseda FM’s Ghana Nti morning show with host Obarima Kwadwo Gyamfi, Appianin committed to paying any outstanding dues and the GH¢10 filing fees required for eligibility. The offer applies to executives across the constituency who wish to seek re-election.
Under NPP regulations, full payment of party dues is mandatory for anyone contesting internal positions, including polling station executives.
The announcement follows the NPP’s post-2024 election call for unity and reconciliation. After losing the general elections, the party lifted suspensions on aggrieved members including Appianin himself and invited them to return. Appianin, who was suspended after breaking away post-2022 primaries, responded by serving as a key coordinator for Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia’s successful January 2026 presidential primaries campaign in the area.
This initiative comes as Appianin confirmed his own candidacy for First Vice Chairman in the constituency, with ally Joseph Bonsu (Bonsec) eyeing the chairmanship. The duo’s joint push reflects a broader effort by former aggrieved members to regain influence within the NPP structure ahead of the 2028 elections.
