PRESS RELEASE: Girls Shall Grow Marks International Women’s Day with the Theme “Give to Gain”

In commemoration of International Women’s Day, Girls Shall Grow proudly joins the global community to celebrate and empower women and girls under the theme “Give to Gain.”
This year’s theme highlights a powerful truth: meaningful growth often begins with selfless giving.

Behind every confident girl and successful woman is a network of individuals who chose to give , parents who sacrifice, teachers who guide, mentors who invest time, volunteers who serve, and caregivers who nurture dreams. Their acts of kindness, wisdom, and commitment create opportunities that shape the future of young girls.

Through this year’s observance, Girls Shall Grow seeks to inspire girls to recognize and appreciate the unseen sacrifices made on their behalf while encouraging them to cultivate a spirit of generosity, service, and gratitude. The initiative also calls on society to continue investing in the growth and development of girls through mentorship, education, and positive role modeling.

As part of the celebration, a special empowerment session will feature respected speaker Cecilia Salifu, who will share insights on how giving ,whether through time, encouragement, resources, or mentorship , creates lasting impact in the lives of young people.

“Giving is not always about material things,” organizers emphasized. “Sometimes it is the patience of a teacher, the listening ear of a mentor, or the quiet sacrifice of a parent that opens doors for a girl to rise and thrive.”

Girls Shall Grow remains committed to nurturing confident, responsible, and purpose-driven girls who will grow to give back to their communities and the world.
As we celebrate International Women’s Day, we encourage everyone to take a moment to appreciate those who have invested in their lives and to intentionally extend that same generosity to the next generation.
