Progressive Movement for Change (PMC), an Obuasi based pressure group is asking the President through the Minister of Local government and rural development to relieve the Obuasi Municipal Chief Executive, Mr. Richard Ofori Agyemang Boadi of his post for acts of Financial irregularities ongoing at the Obuasi Municipal Assembly.
In a Press Statement, signed by the Chairman for the group, Nana Amoako and circulated to all media houses,they raised issues on the yet to be completed Municipal Chief Executive’s bungalow, the poor management of Assembly’s revenue among other issues.
“We the concerned citizens of Obuasi through the media are making a call on the Minister of Local government and the Minister of finance as a matter of urgency carry out a swift investigation into the Finances of the Obuasi Municipal Assembly and the immediate sack of the Obuasi MCE Mr. Richard Agyeman Boadi and the Municipal Finance officer”, he explained.
They further added, should the Ministers and President fail in sacking the MCE and the Assembly’s Finance Officer, they are going to take a different line of action.
“Should any of these fail, the citizens of Obuasi will advice themselves”, he stressed.
