The Parliamentary candidates on the ticket of the Progressive Peoples Party in the Ashanti region have urged voters to choose the PPP in this year’s elections, saying, a vote for them and their Presidential Candidate, Dr. Paa Kwesi Nduom is a vote “for growth and development in a peaceful environment”. They added that both the NDC and NPP have failed Ashanti region and therefore voters should reject their plea for 1 million votes by the NDC and 80% of total votes by the NPP.
The Press Conference, which witnessed the presence of all the Parliamentary candidates of the Party in Ashanti region including the vibrant Frank Danyansah who represents the Obuasi East constituency and is keen on unseating and ending the rule of NPP in the constituency and dashing the hopes of the Obuasi Municipal Chief Executive, Hon. Richard Ofori Boadi, of becoming a member of Parliament.
They concluded by advising the EC Boss, Charlotte Osei, to save her strength for the elections since nothing she does could undermine the chances of the PPP wining the December, 7 elections.
“Charlotte Osei can send us anywhere but we shall make it and make Asanteman great and strong again.”

PPP PARLIAMENTARY CANDIDATES, ASHANTI REGION PRESS CONFERENCE
“ASHANTI REGION AWAKE AND AWAKE FOR CHANGE”
DATE: SATURDAY, 5TH NOVEMBER 2016
Good morning ladies and gentlemen of the press and welcome to this press conference by the Parliamentary candidates of our great party and the future of mother Ghana, the Progressive People’s Party.
We are gathered in here to inform and educate the good people of Asanteman, that it is time we took our destiny into our own hands as a people and as a region and got rid of the NDC who are championing one million votes without any tangible and worthwhile project that has benefited the people in the region, with artistic impression of projects in Ashanti region which to some extent some does not exist and the NPP touts the region as their Florida targeting 80% after some of their parliamentary candidates have failed to push for development in their various constituencies.
We have unveiled a chain of campaign activities and development agenda focusing on human development and progressive leadership to generate job opportunities and tackle the protracted unemployment menace in Ashanti region. We can boast of financial companies, hospitality industries, Estate companies, radio and television companies etc……
“Our country is at the threshold of a new era, an era that beckons for a new kind of leadership, a leadership that is uncontaminated by the prejudices of the past, a leadership committed to change and ready to solve the everyday problems that confront the average Ghanaian.”
We have come to launch a campaign of ideas, not one of calumny; we have come to preach love, not hate. We have come to break Asanteman away from divisive tendencies of the past which have slowed our drive to true nationhood, we have no enemies to fight, Asanteman is one family and we share a common destiny.
We shall strive to the best of my ability to help resolve the problem of unemployment within our communities with a gold refinery in this region.
We Progressives will continue to say that, consistently voting for these two parties will take our beloved country further down into the stone age because Ghana under these two parties have failed to rub shoulders with her peers in the diaspora.
We look at Malaysia, Singapore etc. and bow our head in shame because the NDC have failed to think outside the box to make our country great and strong again.
All they know is on stage insult competition and the wanton dissipation of bravado in sheer ignorance. When they realised that Ghanaians are awakening for change, they have tagged voting PPP as wasted votes.
Let me explain wasted vote is: a wasted vote is a vote for an incompetent and a corrupt President who lives on siphoning the taxes Ghanaians have been paying under this harsh economic crisis. A wasted vote is a vote for members of parliament who have failed to push for the progress of the constituencies. A wasted vote is that makes this current government immune to our suffering. The question is, all Ghanaians who voted for NPP’s Nana Akufo Addo that couldn’t make him president also wasted their vote likewise our own Dr. Nduom.
A vote for the PPP is a vote for growth and development in a peaceful environment. A vote for the PPP is liberation from the economic and mental slavery the NDC government have subjected us to in the last eight years.
A vote for the PPP is the rebirth of a new Ghana where individuals can freely create wealth for themselves and our motherland.
The NDC has continuously thrown dust into the eyes of Ghanaians that they have massive development in the region but we sit here and cannot point to even one that is changing lives in the region as they claim when the NDC Government has never had a development agenda for the region. If they have one, let them show it to us so we will know who is speaking the truth. They have lied to us and continue to lie in their so called green book full of edited pictures of existing infrastructure which were started long before the NDC came to power. The NDC claims they have created jobs yet the Kumasi shoe factory they have been bragging about, employs only thirty – three people who do assembling of parts. This is a government that touts themselves with impunity with the mantra *’changing lives’*and yet no single life has been transformed except you happen to be part of of the *’ede bi k3k3*family. All they think about is votes and nothing else. Shall we continue to entrust our destiny into the hands of lies infested corrupt and selfish individuals who have no idea what governance of a country is?
There are issues at the various constituencies lately and how MP’s have lost touch with the grassroot? We shall say this without fear nor favour, start girding yourself with the reality because we are taking without mercy all the 25 seats we have candidates representing with our portion being 25% of the total votes cast.
We bringing Ashanti back to original state of being the real commercial hub of the country.
We are going to revive all factories in the region that collapsed under the NDC and the NPP.
We will bring out policies to encourage the youth in the region to dream again to be the entrepreneurs they ought to be.
There shall be no longer dumsor and a deceptive restoration of power because we are going to provide a lasting solution to the energy crisis so industrialisation would speedily progress.
Jobs would be created for the youth to develop our region.
Abandoned health and educational structures would be completed because we progressives
believe in the continuity of projects that have been left halfway because it was built with taxpayers.
It is time to *Awake* fellow Ghanaians in the region and beyond to bring life back to region. We shall not sit foe our region full of human and natural resources to be destroyed by gluttons and babies with sharp teeth.
Some people have plunged us into darkness for far too long. The time is now for us to *awake* because the *Red Sun* is shining in our lives now.
Enough is enough people, Asanteman, yennhwe ma no nse3.
Let’s fight for prosperity in peace and restore our lost glory. Charlotte Osei can send us anywhere but we shall make it and make Asanteman great and strong again.
God bless our homeland Ghana and make our nation GREAT and STRONG again.
Awake for change.
PPP, Y’asor
PPP, Y’asor
Ghanaman, yennhwe ma won sei.
Thank you for coming.
