The Chief Executive for the Obuasi East Municipal Assembly Hon. William Kofi Adzowu has assured the people of Obuasi East of his commitment to provide them with massive infrastructural development projects.
Speakijng at the just ended General Assembly meeting, the MCE Stressed that, the Assembly Annual Composite Action Plan and Budget encompasses a lot of projects, programs and activities scheduled to be executed within the year 2026.

“There are a lot of work in progress to respond to the developmental needs and aspirations of the people of Obuasi East. He added”.
He emphasized that, his administration has led the implementation of the following projects.
1. Construction of 1No. 2-Storey 6-Unit classroom Block with 15-seater water closet Toilet Facility, 4-Columns water concrete water and 2No. Rambo 400 tanks at Low Cost.
2. Drilling and Mechanization of 17No. Boreholes with concrete water stand and 500 liters Poly tank and Repairs and maintenance of 5No. Damaged Borehole in selected areas.
3. Construction of 1No. 2 Unit classroom block with office, stores and 2 – Seater water closet toilet and 1No. Mechanized Borehole with concrete water stands and 500 liters Tank at Nyamesomyede.
4. Construction of 1No. 7-Unit CHPS Compound with 5No. Semi – detached Nursing Quarters and mechanized borehole with with 2No. 400 liters overhead tanks with concrete stand at Ayease.
5. The supply of 400 metal dual desk to schools to the Municipal Directorate of Education.
6. Construction and completion of 1No. Community Center with 2No. Room and 10 – seater water closet toilet facilities and mechanized borehole at Akaporiso, 55% completed.
7. Construction of 1No.Medical Laboratory with 1No. office and 2No. water closet toilet facility at odumasi 50% completed.
8. Extension of alternative access road from Tutuka – Tiatiaso to Boete through the construction of 2M X 2M double box culverts at Tutuka. 80% complet.
9. Construction of 2M X 2M double box culvert at Kwabrafoso 80% completed. And many others.
Hon. Adzowu revealed that, the Assembly has procured 2. No. Navara Pick-up vehicles to support monitoring and evaluation of projects in the Municipality.
The MCE also touched on Security, he termed the general overview of security in the municipality as calm, very stable and peaceful. He also commended the heads of all security agencies for their good work.
On Finance and Revenue Mobilization he said the Municipal Assembly has received two quarters share of the District Assemblies Common Fund allo9cated to all MMDAs.
The Assembly was able to mobilize an Internally Generated Fund (IGF) of Two Million Seven Hundred Thousand and Fifty – Nine Thousand, Thirty – three Ghana Cedis and Seventy – Eight Peswas(2,759,033.78) out of the approved target for the year which is Two Million Nine Hundred and Nine Hundred and Ninety – Seven Thousand Ghana Cedis (2,997.000) representing 92.06% of the budgeted revenue.
On structure plan for the Urban areas of the Municipality, he stated that management has released funds for the preparation of a Structure Plan for the urban areas of the Municipality.
the Assembly Members approved the 2026 Fee – Fixing Resolution, 2026 Composite Budget and 2026 Composite Annual Action Plan.
The MCE seized the opportunity to express his deepest appreciation to the good people of Obuasi East for opportunity offer him and other stakeholders like AngloGold Ashanti Obuasi Mine for undertaking some infrastructural projects within the Municipality to improve the living standard of the people of Obuasi East.
In related development, the Member of Parliament for the Obuasi East Constituency Hon. Dr Patrick Boakye-Yiadom donated 100 street lights to Assembly members.
