AngloGold Ashanti Dines with inmates at Obuasi Local Prison, Donates to three other institutions

AngloGold Ashanti on Thursday donated items worth GH¢10,000 to the Adullam Orphanage, Patmos Children’s Home and the School for the Deaf at Ahansonyewodea in Obuasi. They also dined with inmates at the Obuasi Local Prison.
The action is an annual initiative by AngloGold Ashanti to support the less privileged in the society.
The items donated included bags of rice, cooking oil, assorted drinks and cash.

Clement Osei, Board Member for Obuasi school for the Deaf expressed their profound gratitude for the gesture.
“…sometimes God speaks to people but they ignore it. We thank you very much for adhering to the voice of God and bringing us these items to support the school”, he said.

AngloGold Ashanti organised their Thanksgiving Service two weeks ago to thank God for the coming back of the company. In 2016 and 2017, when the company was still not in full operation, these donations were still carried out.
Edward Oduro Adjei, Senior Community Relations Officer, at AngloGold Ashanti, said the company believes the donations will go a long way to ease the burden on the managers of the benefiary institutions.

AngloGold Ashanti recently donated 4000 textbooks to senior high schools in their catchment areas.
