The Member of Parliament for Obuasi East constituency, Dr. Patrick Boakye Yiadom, has revealed that, three football parks in his constituency will be grassed before the end of his first term in office. The football fields include the Boete school park, Independence school park and the Pompoora park. The Medical doctor turned politician made this known at the 50th anniversary celebration of the Boete basic school JHS.
“I have spoken to the green grasss technology guys and they will begin work next year”, the law maker revealed.
Dr. Patrick Boakye Yiadom was a medical officer at the Agogo Presby Hospital for 4 years and spent an extra year at the Provita Specialist Hospital at Tema before joining the Bryant Mission hospital in Obuasi from 2008 to 2016 when he replaced Hon. Edward Ennin of the NPP as a Member of Parliament for Obuasi East. He won the seat by obtaining 27715 votes out of the 40031 total valid votes casts, representing 69.63% of the total votes cast.
Speaking to Charles Wundengba of Obuasitoday.com, the MP revealed that, each project will cost a staggering GH40000 to GHc60000. This sums up to an estimated figure between GHc120000 and GHc180,000. Each project is also expected to be completed within 6 months after commencement.
Dr. Patrick Boakye Yiadom, who is also a member of the Youth, Sports and Culture Committee of Parliament believes the project will help promote sports in the Municipality,
“I played football at the Pompoora park and these projects will help to improve sports in the Municiaplity”, he said.
