The Nifahene for Adansi Kojo Mankrong Mr. James B.B Mensah has told all young men in the community who dare impregnate school going young girls under 18 years old that, they will be fined and the monies used for community development.
Mr. James B.B Mensah made this comments on Tuesday at the Kojo Mankrong Basic School when a Non-Governmental Organization (NGO), Youth Alliance for Development (YAD) organized an Anti-Teenage Pregnancy Durbar for the students to mark the UN Day for the Girl Child.
“Nananom with the support of the Assembly Member and other community stakeholders here in Mamkrong are considering a fine for men who impregnate young girls in who are still in school which becomes a burden and disgrace to the community”, Nana stressed.
According to him, the bye laws if enforced will imbibe discipline in the youth and for those who are culpable, the monies that come out from the fines will be used judiciously into community projects.
Appeal for Educational support
Mr. James B.B Mensah who is also the Chairman for the School Management Committee (SMC) also laid down some pressing needs of Kojo Mankrong Basic School and openly appealed to the dignitaries from the Adansi South Ghana Education Service directorate and other guests present of the pressing needs facing the school.
“I humbly call on you all to come support our school with Computers, school furniture and also ensure that, our students also benefit from some of the Scholarships that are always awarded to needy students in the Adansi South District”, he suggested.
