Dr Amo Collins, Chief Executive Officer of Obuasi Beverages Company Limited, has donated GH¢120,000 towards the emergency brain surgery of 33-year-old Edmond Benefo, who is battling a brain tumour.
The donation, equivalent to US$10,000, represents half of the US$20,000 required to facilitate Edmond’s medical treatment and emergency surgery in India.
Edmond’s medical condition reportedly began with complaints of eye problems, which progressively worsened, eventually leading to the discovery of a brain tumour requiring urgent surgical intervention.
His parents, Aron Benefoh and Christiana Graham, have been seeking support to raise the funds needed to secure the specialised medical treatment and give their son an opportunity to recover.
Dr Collins’ generous intervention is expected to provide significant relief to the family as they work towards raising the remaining US$10,000 required for the surgery.
The contribution underscores the importance of compassion, philanthropy and collective responsibility in supporting individuals and families facing critical health challenges.
For Edmond and his family, the donation represents more than financial assistance; it offers renewed hope at a particularly difficult moment in their lives.
As the family prepares for the next stage of Edmond’s treatment, further support and contributions towards meeting the outstanding medical expenses remain important.
