IGF Performance Stands at 98.76% as Obuasi East Generates GH¢3,859,327.79 in 2025

The Obuasi East Municipal Chief Executive, William Kofi Adzowu, has disclosed the municipality’s 2025 revenue performance, highlighting strong results in Internally Generated Funds (IGF) during a stakeholder briefing marking his one year in office, which fell on 15th May, 2026.

The briefing, held at Mawuli Hotel, brought together the media, traditional leaders, religious leaders, and assembly members to reflect on governance, development progress, and financial performance over the past year.

According to the presentation, the municipality recorded an impressive IGF performance of 98.76%, generating GH¢3,859,327.79 out of a projected target of GH¢3,900,708.45.

This performance was described as a strong indication of improved revenue mobilization systems, administrative efficiency, and the commitment of revenue collectors within the municipality.

The MCE noted that the near-target achievement reflects steady progress in strengthening internal revenue generation, which remains critical for funding development projects and improving service delivery at the local level.

In addition to the IGF performance, the briefing also covered the District Assemblies Common Fund (DACF) allocation for the year under review.

The municipality expected GH¢31,062,570.39 from the DACF but received GH¢22,730,946.95, representing 73.32%performance.

Despite the shortfall in DACF inflows, the MCE emphasized that overall financial management within the assembly has improved, with ongoing efforts to ensure better utilization of available resources for development.

He further assured stakeholders that the assembly will continue to strengthen revenue mobilization strategies and deepen accountability systems to accelerate development within Obuasi East.

The engagement formed part of efforts to promote transparency and accountability in local governance, while allowing stakeholders to assess progress made during his first year in office.
