BONSEC and LEAP schools Win Big at 66th Independence Day Celebration in Obuasi

Obuasi Municipal joined the rest of Ghana in celebrating the 66th Independence Day Anniversary. The event saw the participation of around 100 school children from 25 different schools in the municipality, including primary, junior high, and senior high schools. The colorful march past was a sight to behold.

During the ceremony, Hon Elijah Adansi-Bonah called for unity among the residents of the municipality and urged Ghanaians to support the government’s efforts to revive the economy.

After the march past BONSEC school emerged as the winner in the Junior High School category, scoring an impressive 82.67%. They were presented with a plaque, one set of jerseys, and two footballs. Obuasi SDA school came second, with Anyinam Methodist JHS B placing third.

In the Primary School category, LEAP school emerged as the winner, scoring 78.00%, with Kokoteasua Experimental MA Basic school placing second with 74.33%. Belicks school came third with a score of 70.33%.

One of the highlights of the event was the presentation of a citation and a tablet to Benedicta Saaman, an immediate past student of AngloGold Ashanti JHS. She received the Presidential Award for emerging as the Overall Best Female Graduating BECE Candidate in the Ashanti Region. It was a proud moment for her and a great inspiration for other students in the region.

All the participating schools were presented with certificates by the Obuasi Municipal Assembly as a token of appreciation for their active involvement in the celebration.
