The residents of Ahinsan Estate in the Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly is accusing the assemblyman of the area, Mr. Yaw Wiredu for sabotaging a construction work being financed by one Mr. Kwabena Owusu Dome who because he was not informed before work began on the road.
According to the residents, the assemblyman is peddling falsehood against the benevolent man who has been helping them in diverse ways not to talk of the new project he is financing now.
‘’This link-road has been there for a longtime and the assemblyman could not do anything about it for us but now that somebody has been able to raise his own money to sponsor it so that cars that ply from Ahinsan estate, Atonsu and other places can use it as another rout so that congestion on the main road will be eased, the assemblyman is scheming to stop the work simply because, he was not informed meanwhile the problem has been there since his assumption into office as Assemblyman”, they narrated.

‘’We are warning him to stay away from sabotaging the progress of this electoral area because since he occupied the position, all what he knows is taking monies from those who want a place to do business”, they said.
In an interview with Mr. Kwabena Owusu Dome, he explained that, he was a supervisor to a project initiated by the World Bank at Ahinsan Estate and that after the completion of the project; he pleaded with the leadership to grant him access to use the remaining sand to help his community because they are facing serious challenge.
Though, they agreed and even assigned one of the workers who was part of the team the world Bank brought to Ghana for such project, but anything concerning monetary affairs was sponsored by him to ensure he solve the problem his people are going through.
Mr. Owusu Dome told the New Crusading Guide after this reporter went to the site to have a look at the issue in the presence of one personnel from the urban roads directorate that, the assemblyman wrote a letter to the Metropolitan Chief Executive, that he, Kwabena Owusu Dome, is a self-acclaimed contractor.
‘’I have been helping this community for a very long time because I hail from here and if there are pressing issues my people are going through which is not beyond me, why won’t I offer help to them if the means are available, Mr.Dome explained.
When asked whether he has a personal problem with the assemblyman, Nana Yaw Wiredu, Mr. Owusu Dome replied that he can’t remember having any personal score with anyone but what he knows is that, he last contested him during the top position of the electoral area, though he lost but still has the electoral area at heart.
Mr.Owusu Dome who is supported by the residents including the chief of Ahinsan said, government alone can’t do all the needs and wants of it people and that as far as he known in various countries, citizens do help to speed the progress of the country to relief government from the burden it carries.
Development he said is a shared responsibility and he believes that as an assemblyman who represents an electoral area should not been in the act to sabotage the progress of a particular area.
When this paper confronted the assemblyman about a letter with the New Crusading Guide possession copied to the Metropolitan chief executive, Mr. Yaw Wiredu confirmed that he is the author of the said letter.
