Wayne Rooney’s Final England Cap ends in a 3-0 Comfortable Win over USA

The 28year old Manchester City FC player was the oldest player in the starting eleven as the won comfortable 3-0 against the United States at Webley playing some entertaining football in a friendly match that celebrated Wayne Rooney with his final(120th) appearance.

Wayne Rooney came on as a second-half substitute replacing a former Manchester United teammate Jese Lingard in the iconic number 10 jersey and was handed over the captains armband.

Gareth Southgate gave three young players namely Alex McCarthy, Lewis Dunk and Callum Wilson their England debuts.

The manager said after the match “we had a glimpse of the future and were able to get Wayne on to show some wonderful touches”.
