64 people were arrested in Obuasi on Monday for not wearing face masks. The COVID19 task force went round at the early hours of the day and rounded up 64 people, who were then sent to the Obuasi Central Police station.
This became necessary after the surge in COVID19 cases in Ghana. The Police had since Saturday been arresting people in Obuasi East and West for failure to wear face masks. Ghana currently has 6,922 COVID19 active cases with 455 new cases. So far there have been 108,677 confirmed cases with 880 deaths.
