About AngloGold Ashanti
AngloGold Ashanti is the third-largest gold mining company in the world, measured by production. As at 31 December 2018, their portfolio of 14 operations in nine countries included long-life, relatively low-cost operating assets with differing ore body types, located in key gold-producing regions around the world. These operating assets were supported by three greenfields projects in a tenth country and a focused global exploration programme. Their operations and greenfields projects are grouped into the following regions: Continental Africa, Americas, Australasia and South Africa. Their business activities span the full spectrum of the mining value chain — from exploration through mining to the production of refined gold and its sale.
