Anthony Joshua New IBF Heavyweight champion
Anthony Joshua has been named the new IBF heavyweight world champion after stopping Charles Martin in the second round at the O2 Arena.
The new IBF heavyweight champion put the undefeated American on the canvas twice before referee stopped the fight.
Joshua’s right hand caused Martin problems early on and he was unable to recover from his two knockdowns. Martin fell to the floor after another big right hand and was unable to recover from the second knockdown .
Joshua landed two big right hands on Martin and sent him sprawling to the canvas twice before the referee stopped the fight.The hard-hitting American was unable to cope with the pure power of Joshua and looked uncomfortable from the first round.
The referee counted down Martin and decided that the 29-year-old was in no fit state to continue fighting.
The British fighter had too much in the early rounds and caused the American problems with his big right hand.Martin struggled to land any punches on a rampant Joshua, who coped extremely well against his first southpaw opponent.
Joshua looked relaxed the moment he walked to the ring at the 02 Arena on the biggest night of his young career so far.
The 26-year-old and his father celebrated after his empathetic victory and Joshua is now targeting a big fight in summer.
