Aseda FM in Obuasi, generous individuals and groups have come together to support Billy Sandor, a young boy in need of critical forehead skull surgery at the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital. The surgery, which is crucial for Billy’s health and well-being, has been estimated to cost Ghc 30,000.
Aseda 92.3 FM has spearheaded a fundraising effort, presenting a significant donation of Ghc 18,000 to Billy’s parents. The funds were collected after the family appeared on Aseda FM’s platform to appeal for help, highlighting the urgent need for financial support.
The donation was bolstered by contributions from several key supporters. The Glorious Zion International Church made a substantial donation of Ghc 10,000, while Odeneho Kofi Appianin Ennin, an independent parliamentary candidate for the Obuasi West constituency, generously contributed Ghc 2,000. Additionally, the station’s loyal listeners rallied together to raise an impressive Ghc 6,000.
Despite these generous contributions, there remains a funding gap of Ghc 12,000 to fully cover the surgery costs. Billy’s family continues to appeal to other organizations, churches, and compassionate individuals to assist in raising the remaining funds needed to ensure the surgery can proceed as planned.
The community’s response so far has been overwhelmingly positive, showcasing the power of collective effort in supporting those in need. As the family prepares for the upcoming surgery, they remain hopeful that additional donations will come in to bridge the financial gap.
For those interested in contributing, donations can be directed to Aseda 92.3 FM, which is coordinating the fundraising efforts. Every contribution, no matter the size, brings Billy one step closer to receiving the critical medical treatment he needs.
