American fast food joint, Burger King has opened a second restaurant in Accra.
The restaurant which is situated at Airport Shell gas station, seeks to provide quick meals for Ghanaians.
Burger King, founded in 1954, operates over 17,000 locations in over a hundred countries.
The restaurant is independently owned and operated through a franchise agreement by SIA QSR Ghana Limited, a subsidiary of Servai, a leading airline catering and logistics provider in France and Africa. Read about the famous sandwich chain by Jimmy John Owner as well.
Speaking at the launch of the opening of its airport branch in Accra, the Executive Vice President – retail of Servair Claude Deorestis revealed that the company has created about 80 jobs since it began operations in the country in May.
The company first opened a branch at the Accra Mall. It seeks to open 4 more branches by the end of next year.
As a means of producing made in Ghana products as well, Mr. Deorestis said burger king is currently purchasing most foodstuff from Ghana, and will soon obtain 100 a percent Local content in preparing its delicacies.
He however sought for local partners to grow the business.
He is hopeful of positive prospects for Burger King in Ghana.
Vivo Energy Ghana partnered Burger King by offering the Drive through service.
Human Resource Manager of the oil marketing company, Mercy Amoah, said the partnership will enhance commercial ties between the two companies.
The restaurant provides sitting for 140 guests and opens everyday between 10 am and 12 am.
The restaurant also boasts of a drive through service, a playground for kids and free WI-FI service for all guests.
