In the spirit of Christmas, a remarkable initiative led by Godfred Acheampong, the Project Director, in collaboration with Mr. Prince Owusu Bonnah, CEO of Successlink Consult, touched lives across multiple communities. The project, aptly named “Xmas with the Streets”, unfolded over three impactful days, bringing health services, educational resources, and joy to the underserved.
Day One: Medical Outreach in Kuntenase
The project began on 26th December in Kuntenase, a town in the Ashanti Region, with a comprehensive free medical screening initiative. Hundreds of residents benefited from critical health services, which included:
Free Eye Care: Residents received consultations and treatments for various eye conditions.
Free Ear Care: Specialized services ensured proper diagnosis and treatment for ear-related issues.
Free Medications: Prescribed drugs were distributed at no cost to patients.
The outreach extended beyond health to address other community needs. The team distributed sanitary pads to young girls, ensuring menstrual hygiene, and provided free books and pencils to schoolchildren to support their education. In addition, items were presented to widows to ease their financial burdens and spread festive cheer.
Day One (Afternoon): Supporting the Grace and Hope Foundation Home
Around 2:00 PM, the team visited the Grace and Hope Foundation Home, a haven for vulnerable children. They delivered an assortment of essential items, including food supplies, toiletries, and learning materials. A significant highlight of this visit was the donation of a 32-inch screen, aimed at enhancing the children’s access to e-learning opportunities and fostering digital literacy.
Day Two: Feeding the Streets of Obuasi
The project resumed on 28th December in the bustling township of Obuasi, where the team organized a feeding program. Over 200 people received warm meals and refreshing drinks, ensuring that even the less privileged could experience the joy of Christmas. The atmosphere was filled with laughter and gratitude as beneficiaries relished the thoughtfully prepared meals.
