The Executive Director of Danquah Institute (DI), Dr. Kingsley Nyarko has paid a courtesy call on H.E. John Agyekum Kuffour, a former President of the republic of Ghana to introduce himself as the new director of the institution and also seek his blessing.
The move by the Executive director of the above institution also seeked to laud the former president for his constant support given to the institution as one of the strong pillars of the Danquah-Dombo-Busia tradition.
Dr. Kingsley Nyarko told the former president that Ghanaians are grateful to him especially his contribution towards Ghana’s discovery of the oil in commercial quantities, the floating production storage and offshore (FPSO) which has been named after him and among other things President Kuffour left behind as a legacy to his credit.
“Under your leadership, you exhibited a sign of exemplary leadership style, both as the leader of the ruling NPP government as well as the President of this country which led this country into massive development from 2001-2008. You are an icon to Ghanaians, Africa and the world at large in terms of politics and social development”, said Dr. Kingsley Nyarko.
The DI Executive Director thanked the former president for accepting their invitation and promised to liaise with him to build a formidable institution.
On his part, the former president, thanked Dr. Kingsley Nyarko and his entourage for the respect and courtesy honored him as a former president of the republic of Ghana. He also praised the DI boss for his unflinching dedication Dr. Nyarko showed to the party during the 2016 general election which saw President Akufo-Addo landslide victory against his closed opponent, Mr. John Dramani Mahama of the NDC.
He urged Dr. Nyarko to ensure he sensitizes members of the party to know the objectives and the core values of the Danquah Institute so that unity can exist in the elephant family.
President John Agyekum Kuffour, Ghana’s former president therefore wished the institution well and prayed for the new executive director for God’s Wisdom and mercies on him so that the mandate given to him will benefit others.
