The District Chief Executive for Obuasi East, Hon. Faustina Amissah has called on Ghanaians to hold dearly onto peace and unity since that is the best way to be in good health and bring development. She said this at the Obuasi East maiden Independence Day celebration in the Golden city.
She said that unless there is peace in the country, there can’t be development.
“Without unity and togetherness, we can’t have peace and if you don’t have peace, you can’t even sleep without fearing for your life. If we continue in backbiting and disunity, there can’t be peace and without peace there would be no development, the Obuasi East said.
“Peace and Unity is a catalyst for us to see ourselves as one country, one destiny, and one people irrespective of one’s religious or ethnic background” she added.
The maiden Obuasi East District Independence Day celebration took place at the Father Murphy senior high school and the Obuasi East Member of Parliament, Hon. Patrick Boakye was also in attendance.
