The Management of FC AshantiGold 04 has unveiled the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) of Obuasi, Hon. Faustilove Appiah Kannin, as the club’s Number One Supporter, in recognition of her unwavering commitment and contribution to sports development in Obuasi.
At a brief but colourful ceremony held at her office, the club’s management presented two customized jerseys — representing the official colours of the team — to the MCE. The leader of the delegation expressed appreciation to Hon. Faustilove for her instrumental role in the establishment of the club and her continuous moral and logistical support.
Conferring the title of “No.1 Supporter” on her, the delegation praised the MCE’s dedication to youth and sports development, describing her as “a true inspiration behind the rebirth of football in Obuasi.”
In her remarks, Hon. Faustilove Appiah Kannin thanked the management of FC AshantiGold 04 for the honour, commending the team for its impressive performance in the Division One League. She expressed optimism that, with dedication and teamwork, the club will soon join the Ghana Premier League.

The event was attended by the Municipal Coordinating Director and some senior management staff of the Assembly.
FC AshantiGold 04 was established following the collapse of the former premiership side, AshantiGold Sporting Club. After nearly three years without a football club, the people of Obuasi — led by traditional authorities and sports enthusiasts — appealed for a revival of the town’s football legacy. With the support of government and the leadership of Hon. Faustilove, the club was formed and has since gained recognition for its professionalism and community support.
Today, FC AshantiGold 04 symbolizes hope, unity, and revival for Obuasi — with Hon. Faustilove Appiah Kannin leading the charge as its proud No.1 supporter.
