Joyness Glam Brushes, an Obuasi-based beauty and personal grooming company, has launched a transformational empowerment initiative titled “Beauty Behind Bars” for female inmates at the Kumasi Central Prison.
The one-month vocational training program runs from 3rd to 30th November, 2025, and targets female inmates who are nearing the end of their sentences. The objective is to equip them with employable skills in beauty and grooming to support their reintegration into society once they are released.
The initiative is spearheaded by Kingsley Boateng, CEO of Joyness Glam Brushes, who stated that the project was inspired by the company’s belief in second chances and empowering women through skill development.
“Every woman deserves hope and an opportunity to rewrite her story. Skill training is powerful—it offers independence, dignity, and a new beginning. We want these women to step out with confidence, knowing that they have value and a skill people are willing to pay for,”
said Kingsley Boateng.
During the training period, participants will learn:
Professional makeup application and artistry Proper handling and hygiene of makeup brushes Basic skincare and personal grooming techniques
Officials at the Kumasi Central Prison expressed appreciation for the initiative, noting that skills training plays a vital role in reducing recidivism and improving the chances of successful reintegration.
The “Beauty Behind Bars” initiative by Joyness Glam Brushes is about empowerment, economic transformation, and restoring dignity to women who are preparing to reintegrate into their families and society.
