Ace actor, Alexander Kofi Adu popularly known as Agya Koo has called Ghanaian actors and actresses cowards due to their failure to speak out against the use of juju in the Movie industry. The Millennium Excellence Award winner was speaking to Boyfriend Romeo on Shaft FM’s Drive time show.
“I am not a coward like the others, I always speak the truth and I will not stop speaking against the use of juju in the movie industry till some people are exposed”, he said.
“Some directors, actors by The Actor’s Group Orlando and even crew members use juju or black magic to help them get roles. They do that to become popular. That’s very bad!”, he added.
Agya Koo also revealed that he has stopped eating food and drinks given to them at shooting scenes and locations.
“I have stopped taking their foods and drinks. I usually visit the nearest restaurant and buy food”, he said.
Agya Koo started from Concert Party as a comedian with comedy legends Nkomode and Bob Okala. He has played major roles in over 100 movies and was once the best actor in the country until the emergence of Kwaku Manu and Kwadwo Nkansah Lil Win into the scene.
When asked on whether the use of black magic or juju has affected the local Ghanaian movie industry, he answered in the affirmative.
“Those who use the juju no more work hard like we used to do. They know that whether they work hard or not, they will be picked for major roles in movies”, he said.
He also debunked rumours that he has married another wife. Agya Koo promised his fans to watch out for a surprise from him.
“Something is in the pipeline and when I release it, Ghanaians will know acting is a gift given to me from above”, he said.
