The programme brought together prominent personalities, community leaders and members of the public to celebrate individuals whose dedication, hard work and commitment to service continue to make a positive impact on society.

The ceremony was chaired by Hon. John Alexander Ackon, a former Ashanti Regional Minister, Minister for Gender and former Municipal Chief Executive of the Obuasi Municipal Assembly. The Special Guest of Honour was His Lordship John Yaw Afoakwah, the Catholic Diocesan Bishop of Obuasi.

The awardees were Mr. Sulemane Tahiru, a community activist; Mr. Eugene Kofi Amankwaa, Chief Executive Officer of Eugenmat Consult; Mr. Kwabena Owusu Nketiah, Municipal Director of Education for Obuasi East; and Mr. Prince Owusu Bonnah, Chief Executive Officer of Successlink Consult. They were recognised for their respective contributions to community activism, professional leadership, education and entrepreneurship.

Addressing the gathering, the Executive Director of Catholic Voices GH, Mr. Joseph Owusu-Addo, congratulated the awardees and encouraged them to remain committed to serving their communities. He emphasised that the recognition should inspire them to continue making meaningful contributions to society.

Mr. Owusu-Addo also urged the general public to embrace patriotism, integrity and selfless service, stressing that everyone has a role to play in community development. He disclosed that the third edition of the Mo Ne Adwuma programme would continue to identify and honour deserving patriots whose contributions to society merit recognition.

The awardees expressed gratitude to Catholic Voices GH for acknowledging their efforts and establishing a platform to celebrate individuals making a difference in their communities. They encouraged the public to continue doing good, even when their efforts go unnoticed, emphasising that acts of kindness, dedication and service to humanity will one day be recognised and rewarded.

In a post-event interview, the chairman, Hon. John Alexander Ackon, commended the organisers for the initiative and praised the awardees for their contributions in their respective fields. He encouraged the organisers to sustain the programme to inspire more people to serve their communities and contribute to national development.

The ceremony was enlivened by performances from Dom Peace Chorale, Golden Maestroes Chorale GH and the host choir, Catholic Voices GH, all based in Obuasi. The three choral groups entertained guests with patriotic songs that promoted unity, national pride and collective responsibility.

The second edition of Mo Ne Adwuma reinforced the importance of recognising individuals whose dedication and service contribute to society’s progress. Through the initiative, Catholic Voices GH seeks to promote responsible citizenship, encourage patriotism and inspire others to follow the example of those committed to the common good.

With plans underway for the third edition, the organisers remain committed to celebrating deserving individuals and fostering a culture in which hard work, selflessness and community service are valued and rewarded.

The programme concluded with a strong message that the development of Obuasi and Ghana as a whole depends on the collective efforts of citizens who are willing to serve, lead responsibly and make a positive difference in the lives of others.
