Kumasi Chief Blows GHC3,007,725.00 Land Compensation Cash

The assembly members for Ahinsan Estate and Ahinsan Proper,Hon.Nana Yaw Wiredu and Hon Joseph Okyere, have accused the chief of Ahinsan, Nana Dwumahene Akoana III for chopping a hooping sums of monies amounting to GHC 3,007,725.00 which according to them could be used for many developmental projects.

They are also alleging that after chopping that hooping sums of monies, the chief had allegedly asked some private developers to build on the land that has been paid for by the government in 2012 February during the late President John Evan Atta- Mills administration.

According to them, government was interested in the land as a reservation for any future development and as members of the Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly, they could not believe it when GHC 50,000 was used to provide water  for the two electoral areas  out from the said compensating cash paid to the Ahinsan stool.

‘’What we know is that, chiefs are instrumental in community development and we wonder if the chief really believe in development or personal gains’’, they indicated.

They told the New Crusading Guide that the issue is terrible and could never understand why the chief of Ahinsan has pocketed the said money.

“I was told by Nana Prempeh who is Manhyiahene to walk out from his office when I wanted to know how much the community derived from the compensating cash given to Kumasi Ahinsanhene”, Hon. Jame Okyere revealed.

He then revealed that the chief of Ahinsan told him that Asantehene has asked him to take the money and he won’t render any accounts with anyone.

A document which is in possession of the New Crusading Guide  bear a commercial Bank accounts number with the name of Ahinsan stool with a sum of Three Million, Seven thousand, Seven hundred and twenty-five Ghana Cedis (Ghc3,007,725), which is believed to be the said amount paid into the accounts of the Ahinsan stool.

They lamented that the chief do not care about the community because ever since Nana Dwumahene Akoana III was enstooled as the chief of Ahinsan community, he can boast of no single project to benefit the community and they believe he could use part of the said amount of money paid to the traditional council to speed development in the Ahanisan communities which is gradually becoming a deprive area as they are been faced by many challenges in terms of development.

Hon. James Okyere who is an assembly man for the people of Ahinsan Proper explained to this paper that the chief is not in good terms with them because of their fearless behavior of finding the truth of everything that goes round the community they are representing under KMA.

When the New Crusading Guide Newspaper contacted the Ahinsan Chief, he admitted to receiving the money but added that nobody including the community members can determine for him what he should use the money for.
