The chief of Kwamo, in the Ejisu-Juaben municipal assembly, Nana Owusu Nyanin is asking the government of Ghana to ensure the sanitation laws in the country is enforced to prosecute offenders.
This, he said, will serve as a deterrent to citizens who do not respect the laws governing sanitation which has become a challenge to us as a nation.
According to him, some citizens of this country has taken things for granted as they do not care throwing refuse at anywhere whether at where he lives or where he may find himself and that if this is a habit we are encouraging, I don’t think the challenge of poor sanitation can be overcome.

The chief citing some instances made known that, some countries like Singapore, Canada and other countries do not play with issues when it comes to sanitation because many diseases contracted by people are as a result from poor environment.
Nana Owusu Nyanin, the chief of Kwamo made this call when speaking to the New Crusading Guide Ashanti regional correspondent on current development of Kwamo and the way forward.
The chief who sometimes represents Asantehene Otumfuo Osei Tutu II on several grounds revealed that, when he ascended as the chief of Kwamo, his priorities was infrastructure development, effective sanitation, provision of portable water, health and among others.
As am speaking to you, I have invested some monies into the construction of drains which is about 300 meters so that the direction of waste water can be controlled’’,He stated.
Apart from the effort am undertaken to bring growth and development, the urban roads has also supported us by constructing 2killometers drains.
On youth development, Nana Nyaani noted that,he has set up a fund to improve the lives of the youth in Kwamo in the area of skills development and to him, about one hundred youth in his community has benefited from the scheme.
Throwing more light on education, the chief bemoaned that, he has sponsored about 18 pupils through scholarship because education he said is the bedrock of every nation and as a chief and someone who have stayed outside Ghana for many years, does not joke with education.
Many countries which have succeeded heavily having stronger economy are as a result from education policy they do not play games with it. According to him, the focusing of technical education is not seen in our educational frontline and it is time technical education should not be undermined.
On his view about the new government headed by His Excellency, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo Addo,the president of the republic of Ghana, Nana Owusu Nyanin suggested that, with some of the policy statements presented by the finance minister, Hon.Ken Ofori- Atta, he believes that there is more hope.
He advised that, it is important Ghanaians rally behind the new government so that programs and policies by the government will bring change to us as citizens.
