Messi Ban Overturned.

Argentina Captain Lionel Messi has had his four game ban by FIFA overturned after Argentina Football Association appealed against the decision. Messi was given the ban after he was alleged to have used diatribes towards an assistant referee during Argentina’s 1-0 win over Chile in March. He was due to miss all but one of his country’s remaining games but will now be eligible to try and lead his country to Russia.
The news will come as a welcome boost to Argentina who lost their next game in Messi’s absence and have fallen outside the automatic qualifying place in the South American qualifiers. Only the top 4 countries in the 10-team group are assured of qualification to the World Cup in Russia with the fifth placed side going into a play-off with a side from Oceania.
Lionel Messi, a five-time Balon D’or winner is Argentina’s all-time leading goalscorer with 58 goals in 117 games.
