Nana Kwabena Ponko, the Abusuapanin of Dompoase who is also the chief of Kunka in Obuasi has heaped praises on the current management of AngloGold Ashanti, Obuasi Mine. He said this during the inauguration of the Youth Apprenticeship Training Program at the Mawuli Hotel in Obuasi.
He cited the disparity in performance between the old and new management of the company as he mentioned some feats of the current management in the short period that they have managed the company including the construction of Maternity Ward at the Obuasi Government Hospital which was funded by the Community Trust Fund from the US$200,000.00 operational support provided by AGA Obuasi Mine as part of the Redevelopment process of the Mine.
He also revealed his displeasure of how former rulers of the land did not put the former management of the company on their toes to add more value to the lives of the people of Obuasi. He pleaded with the youth to tirelessly work and learn to maintain the goodwill of the people of Obuasi.
Other traditional rulers at the inauguration included Nana Owusu Obrempong (Bogobiri), Nana Ama (Aboagyekrom), Nana Addo Asare (Abompe), Nana Sarfo Kantanka (Bedieso) and Nana Otaa Prempeh (Kwabenakwa).
