Parents and pupils of Nhyieso, a community in the Obuasi Municipality, yesterday were full of joy when the AngloGold Ashanti Obuasi Community Trust Fund, commissioned a state-of-the-art Pre-school for the community. The building came at a cost of Ghc 306,553.85, with two big classrooms, cupboards, a water storage tank, a kitchen, relaxation hall, washrooms, teaching and learning materials and electricity.
speaking at the commissioning, Mr. Bimpong Marfo, Chairman of the Trust Fund, admonished community folks and teachers to make the maintenance of the school a priority. The Nhyieso Community has been one of the communities in the municipality with a school challenge. Gracing the occasion was the Chief of the town, Nana Peprah Abu Bonsra, Municipal Education Director,Municipal Budget Officer, Mr. Appiah Nsiah, Community Trust Fund Board Chairman, Mr. Bimpong Marfo, members of the steering committee and some top management of the Obuasi mine.
