Obuasi Municipal Assembly: Task force to collect Revenue begins work on Tuesday 16th Nov.

The Obuasi Municipal Assembly (OMA) has set up a special taskforce to expand its revenue collection base as a measure to increase its Internally Generated Fund (IGF).

In a letter signed by the Municipal Finance Officer, Yahaya Zakaria and copied to Assembly members and all media houses, the Taskforce is expected to start work on Tuesday, 16th November, 2021. It has been given a 3 week mandate to help the Assembly collect revenue. 

The Taskforce comprise officers from the Ghana Police Service,  Municipal Urban Guard Unit as well as officials from the Assembly. 

It would be recalled that the Assembly has on numerous occasions  issued public notices on the need for the General public to pay their levies to the Assembly. The levies include; Property rate, Business Operating Permit, Container Fees, Store Licenses among others…
