Obuasi Municipal Assembly to Commission Key Development Projects Across Communities

The Obuasi Municipal Assembly has announced plans to commission a number of completed development projects across selected communities within the municipality as part of efforts to improve infrastructure and enhance living conditions.

On Wednesday, April 15, projects will be commissioned in Awonakrom and Bediem. At Awonakrom, the Assembly will commission a mechanized borehole equipped with a 3.2-metre-high concrete polytank stand, ladder, and metal projection, as well as a six-seater water closet (WC) toilet facility.

At Bediem, similar water infrastructure projects will be unveiled, including a drilled and mechanized borehole with supporting structures, alongside the completion of another six-seater WC toilet facility.

The exercise will continue on Thursday, April 16, with commissioning activities in Kulem and Railway. Projects at Kulem include a borehole facility and a six-seater WC toilet, while at Railway, the Assembly will commission a rehabilitated and mechanized borehole system designed to improve water accessibility in the area.

Residents in the beneficiary communities are expected to benefit significantly from the projects, which are aimed at improving hygiene, reducing water-related challenges, and enhancing overall quality of life.

The commissioning exercise is also expected to reinforce government’s broader development agenda and its commitment to delivering tangible improvements to local communities across the municipality.
