Member of Parliament for Obuasi West Constituency, Hon Kwaku Kwarteng Agyemang has today on Shaft FM unveiled his plans of building a basic school for the good people of Nhyieso, a small town in the Obuasi Municipality.
He made these revelations Wednesday morning on Obuasi based Shaft FM in a telephone interview with host, George Opoku Mensah when he called in the programme to make some corrections the Obuasi Municipal Chief Executive made in his interview Tuesday morning on the same show pertaining to Common Fund.
“Yes, I am very glad the debate has now turned from I’ve done nothing with my common Fund to I have excess money in the account; with the approval from the Assembly we are going to build a basic school for the good people of Nhyieso, considering the hardship the children go through”, he stressed.
According to him, the Regional Education Directorate has approved his request and work will commence soon.
The building of the school is being funded by his share of the Common Fund.
School going children in Nhyieso have to trek to Bideiem Experimental or Anyinam Methodist School which is very far from the town.
