Popular Ghanaian movie goddess, Yvonne Nelson has blamed the crippling nature of the Ghanaian movie industry to the activities of movie pirates who are making movie producers loose interest in investing.
The ‘House of Gold’ star made this statement when she spoke to Obuasi based Shaft FM on their weekend entertainment show dubbed E-Zone last Saturday, hosted by Romeo Kofi Debrah.
“The movie industry is faring well, but pirates are making it unattractive to producers and financiers”, she said.
According to the screen goddess, movie makers are now coming up with new ways to get their profits, aside making movies on DVDs.
“Movie producers like myself now prefer premiering and showing our movies at the cinemas to putting them on DVDs”, she stressed.
Miss Yvonne Nelson went on to predict a bright future for the movie industry, if only laws are enforced to stop movie pirates.
