In a recent development following the postponement of local elections in the Kunka electoral area, Nyameso-Bediem Electoral area and other affected areas, the Electoral Commission (EC) has issued a press release announcing a new date for the polls.
The rescheduled elections are now set for Thursday, December 21, 2023.
This announcement comes after technical challenges forced the delay of district-level elections in certain areas within the Ashanti and Eastern regions. The EC’s Acting Head of Public Affairs, Michael Boadu, extended apologies for the inconvenience caused and reassured residents of the affected areas that the elections would proceed on the newly scheduled date.
The rescheduling aims to address the logistical issues that led to the initial postponement and to ensure a smooth and efficient electoral process.
