A driver at the Horsey Park Lorry Terminal in Obuasi has revealed that those complaining of the high price of fuel do not understand the Bible. According to him, Kwame Nkrumah even prophesied about it during his time. He told a presenter of Aseda FM when he was asked about his take on the increase in fuel prices.
As part of Aseda FM’s morning show on Friday, 18th March 2022, their reporters visited the Kunka and Horsey Park lorry terminals in Obuasi to ask drivers for their opinions on the recent rise in fuel prices. Speaking to the reporters, some drivers expressed their displeasure at the rate at which the prices of fuel keep going up and called on the government to do something about it.
One driver, speaking to the reporter, disagreed with his fellow drivers, arguing that the world is passing through hard times and this shouldn’t come as a surprise since the Bible prophesied about it.
“The truth is that we don’t produce oil and even if we do, we send it outside the country to be refined”.
“The last time I was watching Television (and I heard that) the price of fuel in Germany is even more expensive than in Ghana. If we study the Word of God well, this wouldn’t come as a surprise. The Bible said that in the last days, hard times will come and nations shall rise against nations and Kings against Kings” he said.
“Kwame Nkrumah made a statement, these people are young so they don’t know. He said Forward Ever, Backwacks Never. So we should understand that God destined things to be this way. We shouldn’t blame anyone and be saying it is the government, it is the government” he said.
