Underground Mining Alliance Ltd. (“UMA”) is a Joint Venture between African Underground Mining Services Limited (AUMS) and Rocksure International carrying out underground development and production works for the AngloGold Ashanti (Obuasi) Mine.

UMA is seeking to employ qualified and experienced persons to fill the position of AGI Operator. This is Obuasi based Fixed Term position with a competitive work roster at its operations in Obuasi. Remuneration package includes attractive salary and performance-based incentive payments for the right candidates.

Agitator Driver /AGI Operator

Position summary:

The Agitator Driver/Operator is responsible for the safe and efficient loading, delivery and unloading of concrete from Mine Surface to Underground, as well as maintaining the presentation of the Truck and ancillary equipment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Transport and deliver concrete from batch plant (Surface) to underground;
• Manage concrete slump tolerance levels and the discharge of concrete;
• Complete all basic relevant documentations associated with the collection and delivery of concrete;
• Observe concrete during delays or breakdowns and add the right chemical to avoid concrete going off the bowl.
• Adhere to all operational, safety and environmental site requirements;
• Maintain the presentation of the Agitator Truck and all ancillary equipment;
• Maintain good interpersonal relationship with working staff;
• Maintain a clean and orderly workplace
• Attend toolbox talks and pre-start meetings
• Ensure equipment is washed, cleaned and maintain in a tidy condition;
• Undertake general yard duties and Site housekeeping;

Desired Skills & Experience

• Minimum of two (2) years’ experience driving Agitator Truck preferably in an underground mining environment or
• Minimum of two (2) years’ experience in heavy duty truck operation in a mining, relevant concrete industry or a similar environment.
• Must possess a valid Ghanaian driving and operating licenses (C & E Classes) and can drive underground.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
• Ability to work weekends and public holidays as required
• Mincom certification is an added advantage
• Strong commitment to health and safety
• Reliable team player who is target driven
