2016 BECE Results Out

The results of the Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) is out per a statement issued by Agnes Teye Cudjoe, Head of Public Affairs at the West African Examination Council, (WAEC).

The report noted 125 schools cheated in the objectives session which hitherto was a free range for cheats but which now has a new software to detect cheating patterns. The noted schools had results in the relevant subject results cancelled.

Additionally 321 schools had their schools’ result withheld pending further investigation regarding exam malpractices.

460, 930 candidates from 14,267 schools sat for the examination. This number of candidates marks a 5.2 percent rise in the 2015 figures.

188 candidates had their results cancelled, 22 of them entirely for bringing mobile phones into the examination room, and receiving external assistance, according to the statement.
