AngloGold Ashanti allocates US$500k to support construction of Obuasi Township roads

AngloGold Ashanti says they have allocated US$500,000 towards the asphalting of 1.3Km of Obuasi township roads. The Mine initially decided to reseal 10km of Obuasi township roads but the assembly said they needed asphalt roads when they were consulted. The amount therefore could only construct 1.3km asphalt roads in the township.
0.8km asphalting will take place at the Obuasi business district, starting from the market road that leads to Jemima Maternity Home. The remaining 0.5km will take care of the Boete road starting from the Boete bus stop towards the Fire service area.

Contract will be awarded soon.
