The Assembly Member for Obuasi Anyinam in the Ashanti Region, Hon. Solomon Amoako Acheampong, has launched a major infrastructural development project aimed at improving roads and pedestrian access in the community. The project involves the laying of 4 kilometers of pavement blocks, and is expected to significantly ease movement and enhance the overall appearance of the area.
Valued at an estimated GH¢1.8 million, the initiative is focused on transforming the local road network and improving the daily commute for both residents and commercial drivers. According to Hon. Acheampong, the project will use a total of 1,826 bags of cement for the production of high-quality pavement blocks.
The project is being carried out with the support of key stakeholders, including AngloGold Ashanti (AGA), who donated 200 bags of cement, local subcontractors, and members of the Anyinam community. Residents have contributed both financially and physically, a testament to the strong communal spirit in the area.
In a significant move to support the project, a major road linking Nankaba Junction to the Anyinam Taxi Rank has been cleared of encroachments, allowing for a smoother and safer route for drivers and pedestrians alike.
Hon. Acheampong expressed deep gratitude to the people of Anyinam for their unwavering support.
“Let me take this opportunity to appreciate the residents of Anyinam for their yeoman’s gesture towards this initiative. They have been supporting the project with their widow’s mite, while others have contributed their strength to make this vision a reality,” he stated.
Upon completion, it is expected to improve the local economy, increase accessibility, and raise the living standards of the people of Anyinam.
