The Appianin-Bonsec Fun Club has provided interest-free loans to 50 women in Obuasi, with a total amount of GHc50,000.
Each woman received a GHc1000 loan to support their business, with a repayment period of 5 months. This initiative is aimed at improving the businesses of the beneficiaries.
The President of the club, Kofi Appianin Ennin, expressed his delight in providing support to the women, stating that the money would help them to expand their businesses and create more employment opportunities. Appianin-Bonsec Fun Club was established in May 2022 by two businessmen, Joseph Bonsu (Bonsec) and Kofi Appianin Ennin, with the aim of finding solutions to the unemployment situation in Obuasi.
One of the beneficiaries, speaking to Obuasi Today, expressed her gratitude towards the club, stating that if they had taken the loan from the bank, they would have struggled to pay the interest. The interest-free loan provided by the club has been a great support to their businesses, allowing them to invest in their ventures without the burden of additional costs.
The club has announced that women who are able to honour the payments can request another loan in the future. This gesture is expected to provide long-term support to women entrepreneurs in the community, empowering them to create employment and contribute to the economic growth of the town.
